Belated as it is; we’d rather publish this article late than not at all! Many interstate exotic car fanatics (and their cars) flocked to Adelaide for the starting leg of the 2016 Bullrush Rally. Lamborghini, Ferrari, Aston Martin… It was all going to be right here on our doorstep. Among the Adelaide-bound convoy was founder and business manager of renown workshop and viral facebook page Street FX Motorsport and Graphics; Mark Trueno. A mutual friend of our friends at Custom Importz; Mark had a different agenda upon his visit to Adelaide. As an entrant in the 2016 Bullrush Rally in his Lamborghini Huracan, Mark knew that exotic cars would be just about all he’d be seeing for the duration of the days that followed, and thus requested a small favour of Custom Importz and Slow Life… To bring some of Adelaide’s ‘real’ car scene together to showcase what Adelaide’s all about. With a few days’ notice, we knew exactly what we had to do! Let’s hear about how our mini-meet with Street FX went down.
The date was fixed for Sunday the 6th of November. The Bullrush Rally was departing the following day, and entrants were already roaring around the streets of Adelaide. With such short notice, we were pretty limited in terms of venues! However, we were lucky enough to lock in the Churchill Centre, located just ten minutes north of the Adelaide CBD. Being a mini-meet, we weren’t expecting the numbers that we see at our regular events, but oh my, were we surprised!
Adelaide, we’ve got to hand it to you… You know how to assemble damn fast. In excess of 300 cars rolled into the Churchill Centre on that sunny Sunday afternoon, and it’s safe to say that we impressed our interstate guests! We even saw some of our Bullrush guests make it to the event… The freshly-unveiled GU Auto Concepts GT-R ‘Street Fighter’ was joined by the BANKRPT C63 AMG, an eye-catching zebra-print C63 AMG, and for those who made it to the cruise end point in Cumberland Park, the bullrush-spec Street FX Huracan!
We saw many other great rides roll up; anything from JDM, Euro, exotic and muscle! With so many great cars assembled in one place, it was a no-brainer to broadcast it to the world… Street FX went live on their facebook channel, and our meet was broadcast to their following of in excess of 9 million. It was definitely a privilege for team SL to showcase what we do to the global scene, and we can’t wait to have Street FX back in town in the future!
The cruise saw everybody heading through the wonderful Adelaide Hills as the sun set, and finally setting down in Cumberland Park. For those who made it to the end point, a surprise awaited. It was hard to miss the bright green bulrush-embossed machine as its iconic headlights lit up the dark car park, but Mark’s Huracan was certainly a sight to behold. Sparkling with its freshly-applied trademark Bullrush decals, the green machine didn’t fail to turn a single head!
What we love about mini-meets is the pure spontaneity of the whole thing. It really showcases the commitment and love within the Adelaide car scene, and how passionate our locals are to get their cars out, meet up with their mates, and come together to celebrate our mutual passion for cars. Two days’ notice assembled in excess of 300 cars, and to us, that’s pretty spectacular. Good on you, Adelaide, we’ll be seeing you out again soon!
