Well we’re pretty pleased to say that our first meet of 2016 went off with a bang! Check out our official video below (or on our youtube)!
We took a few months off after Christmas to plan what we wanted to do with our events this year… And we decided that *drumroll* awful, punny names would be the perfect approach to the year! ‘March Madness’ was the first name we managed to come up with (our creativity around Slow Life HQ is at an all time high) and we got cracking with some preparations.
Held at a location which we’ve never used for a meet before – we were slightly nervous about our night at the Brickworks Marketplace parking facilities! These facilities are less than a year old – perfectly fresh asphalt, smooth transitions from the road (for the stance kids) and a Zambrero… What more could you ask for? We were scared of over-filling the car park! Luckily we didn’t, but we got pretty close! WE loved this location though – a massive thanks to the Brickworks Marketplace staff for being so generous with the facilities! Everybody we spoke to had great feedback for us, and we’re so glad that you had fun! A few stand-out rides came along to join the fun, including the GU Worx Liberty Walk GT-R, a Rocket Bunny 86, a bagged Lamborghini Murcielago and a stunning GT Celica!
Our first feature at this event was the appearance of Team Chop Gear – two lads by the name of Mike and Daniel; all the way from the Gold Coast and Sydney respectively. Chop Gear is their team name in the Shitbox and Mystery Box Rallies held in Australia each year. Run by Box Rallies Australia; the Shitbox Rally involves driving a car valued at $1000 or less across tough Aussie terrain from Mackay to Hobart to raise money for a great cause – Cancer Council. These two guys have loved Slow Life from interstate for a long time, and we really wanted to help them raise some money for Cancer Council. Make and Daniel flew down from the east coast to join us at March Madness to cook us up a BBQ! Mike being a gourmet chef by trade – we expected a pretty great cook up… IT WAS DELICIOUS. A massive thanks to Mike and Daniel for coming down – and don’t forget to throw any donations you can spare to Chop Gear and Cancer Council here!
The second feature for the event was the announcement by our good friend Megan from Yaruki Road that Slow Life is officially hosting a Show & Shine at this year’s SA Twilight Time Attack! We’ll be releasing a full article about this soon – but this is very exciting news, and we can’t wait to get cracking with the preparations to help the SA Time Attack team bring an amazing event to SA this year! Megan stuck around with her Evo IX all night with all the information about the Time Attack this year you could ask for!
Well, back to the drawing board… Time to get ready for our April Event (and we guarantee an even more cringe-worthy pun for this one!)
