It’s not every day that Adelaide’s graced with a plethora of exotic cars… Pffft, who are we kidding!? Adelaide’s host to many great automotive events featuring rare and/or exotic cars every year including the Clipsal 500, the Adelaide Motorsport Festival, All Japan Day, Cruise for Charity and the Bay to Birdwood. These annual events contribute to what we would say to be an eventful and fulfilling automotive scene in South Australia. However, there’s one particular event which hasn’t seen our humble city up until now… A spectacular convoy of supercars raising funds for Variety running in its second year in 2016; the Bullrush Rally had Adelaide car nuts buzzing with excitement, and social media running wild.
Last weekend, Adelaide noticed a significant jump in the quantity of exotic cars gracing its streets. We’re talking manufacturers including Lamborghini, Ferrari, Porsche, Jaguar and Mercedes Benz (plus numerous others). These cars traveled from afar; with entrants for the 2016 Bullrush Rally coming from all corners of Australia. Most vehicles arrived in Adelaide via truck prior to the commencement of the event, and were soon hitting the streets of Adelaide to experience SA roads for the weekend prior to a 1900km journey to Sydney.
Some may be wondering ‘what is the Bullrush Rally’?
Imagine this: A convoy of Supercars. 1900km of open road. Parties. Dinners. Drag Racing. It’s essentially Australia’s ultimate road trip, and it’s all to raise funds and awareness for Variety Children’s Charity. The incredible five day adventure takes entrants through Adelaide, Warrnambool, Melbourne, Canberra and Sydney; with parties every night, a drag racing event and luxurious accommodation and dining to present the ultimate VIP experience. This year’s Bullrush saw the convoy taking on Australia’s ultimate road – the Great Ocean Road. Sounds pretty cool, right?
Upon arrival to Adelaide, vehicled required cleaning and preparation for the eye-catching array of Bullrush decals and stickers which all entrants sported on their car. They needed a bit of a helping hand, so who other than our friends at Partners and Grime to take care of the cleaning and Dizzi Decalz to apply the decals!? We think they definitely had a lot of fun, and we wanted in on all the action… So we took some of the Bullrush entrants out on Adelaide’s streets and out onto the South-Eastern freeway for some shots!
Featured in these shots are two cars from our own car scene; Kane’s matte orange-wrapped C63 AMG (BANKRPT) and the freshly-unveiled GU Auto Concepts R35 GTR ‘Street Fighter’! A very unique vinyl wrap definitely turned an already incredible car into the ultimate head-turner.
Oh, and we needed a car suitable to take all of these rolling shots…so chilling in Simon’s GT3 was definitely a great decision!
If you’ve got any pictures of the Bullrush Rally as it hit the streets of Adelaide, don’t forget to use their #bullrushrally hashtag in all of your uploads so that they can see them!
